As part of our ongoing efforts to follow the progress of our educational institutions in developing scientific research and strengthening their academic presence internationally, we congratulate the College of Electrical and Electronic Technology – Benghazi on beginning to reap the benefits of the steps it has taken in recent months to develop its institutional research identity and link its scientific output to global databases.

Several months ago, the College was officially registered in the Research Organization Registry (ROR), the global open registry of research organizations. This provides the College with a unique institutional identifier that helps standardize its identity across scholarly publishing systems, databases, and international research platforms.

The results of this step have become increasingly visible during the current quarter of the year, particularly through improved visibility and linkage of the College’s research output on the OpenAlex platform. This makes it easier to track its research activity and highlight the researchers and scholarly works associated with the institution.

According to the latest data available on OpenAlex, the College’s research output includes:

  • 115 academic works published in leading international journals and scientific conferences.
  • 1,771 citations.
  • 63 journal articles.
  • 50 conference papers.
  • 1 book chapter.
  • 1 preprint.

OpenAlex data also reflects the diversity of research interests among the College’s faculty members and researchers.

The growing visibility and development of these data represent a positive step in the College’s journey toward building a clear institutional research identity, improving the discoverability of its scientific output, and strengthening its presence in international research databases and indicators.

On this occasion, the Ministry commends these efforts and acknowledges the contributions of the College’s faculty members, researchers, administrative and technical staff who have helped build and develop this body of scientific work. We also appreciate the efforts of the Research and Consulting Office and everyone who contributed to completing the registration process and establishing institutional links with international research platforms.

What has been achieved today reflects the accumulation of years of research activity and marks another important step toward building educational and research institutions with a stronger and more influential presence at both the local and international levels.
