The Department of Preventive Affairs, Awareness and Guidance, affiliated with the General Directorate for Drug Control, has launched its drug awareness program for the 2026/2027 academic year, in coordination with the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education of the Libyan Government.
The campaign, held under the slogan “A Safe Family, a Drug-Free Society,” aims to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and its harmful consequences for individuals and society.
The awareness lectures commenced in Benghazi at the Higher Institute of Engineering Technologies, with sessions organized during both morning and evening periods. The morning session was attended by approximately 270 female students, while the evening session brought together 120 male students.
The sessions successfully raised awareness of the serious risks associated with drug use, emphasizing the importance of prevention and promoting a healthy, drug-free environment.
The organizing team reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these initiatives to protect the nation’s most valuable asset—its young people—and to strengthen awareness and prevention efforts across educational institutions.
The team also expressed its sincere appreciation to Eng. Ashraf Al-Saeiti, Director General of the Institute, for his valuable cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the campaign.
