Within the framework of supporting scientific research and promoting international academic publishing, we are pleased to extend our congratulations to Dr. Ahmed Attia Al-Mansouri, Director General of the Higher Institute of Agricultural Technologies in Derna, on the publication of a distinguished scientific paper in collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture in Tripoli and the Higher Institute of Agricultural Technologies in Al-Marj, in the Open Veterinary Journal. The journal is an international publication indexed in the Scopus database and globally classified within the second quartile (Q2). Efficacy of Garlic (Allium sativum) Supplements in Improving Blood Biochemical Indices and Immune Response of Broiler Chickens
The research evaluates the efficacy of using garlic powder (Allium sativum) as a natural and non-conventional feed additive to improve blood biochemical indices and immune response in broiler chickens.
The study was based on a comparison between two groups of broiler chickens. One group was fed a basal diet, while the other was fed a diet supplemented with 0.5% garlic powder. Several important physiological indicators were evaluated, including blood lipids, proteins, liver and kidney functions, in addition to measuring IgG and IgM antibodies.
The results of the study showed that the addition of garlic powder at a concentration of 0.5% is safe and contributes to enhancing the immune response and reducing blood lipid levels, without causing any adverse effects on liver or kidney functions. This supports the potential use of garlic powder as a natural feed additive that promotes the health and productivity of broiler chickens.
