As part of ongoing efforts to promote drug awareness and protect students at higher technical institutes from the dangers of substance abuse, an awareness team conducted an educational session at the Higher Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Technologies in Benghazi on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The session brought together approximately 60 male and female students, along with faculty members and the Institute’s Director General, Dr. Youssef Al-Badri.
The discussion focused on raising students’ awareness of the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, highlighting their harmful effects on individuals and society. The session also emphasized the importance of prevention, responsible decision-making, and fostering a culture of awareness among young people.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing cooperation between the Department of Preventive Affairs, Awareness and Guidance, affiliated with the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education of the Libyan Government.
Such initiatives reflect a shared commitment to protecting students, promoting a safe and healthy educational environment, and raising a generation free from drug abuse and addiction.
