His Excellency the Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, Dr. Faraj Khalil Salem, inaugurated today the proceedings of the “Libyan Dental Technology Conference (LDTC 2026),” hosted by the College of Medical Technology in Benghazi under the theme: “Between Science and Beauty: New Standards in Dental Technology.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Member of the House of Representatives Mr. Ibrahim Al-Zaghid, Undersecretary General of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdul Salam Aqila, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mr. Al-Mahdi Al-Saiti, in addition to a number of the Minister’s advisors, directors of departments and offices at the Ministry, as well as a distinguished group of academics, experts, and researchers specialized in this vital field.
Following the opening ceremony, His Excellency the Minister inaugurated the scientific and industrial exhibition accompanying the conference, where he conducted an inspection tour of the pavilions of the participating companies. During the tour, he was briefed on the latest advanced medical technologies and equipment in the field of dental industry and dental technology. His Excellency praised the organizational and technical level achieved by the exhibiting companies, stressing the importance of this partnership between academic institutions and the private sector in localizing modern technology.
In his address during the opening session, Dr. Faraj Khalil Salem emphasized the strategic role played by the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education in supporting and localizing modern technologies. He noted that this conference represents an important scientific platform for enhancing the skills of national cadres and developing their tools in the fields of digital design and 3D printing, in line with the rapid technological advancement taking place globally.
His Excellency the Minister also commended the efforts of the national entities supporting the stability and development of the country, affirming that scientific progress and technological advancement within educational institutions go hand in hand with the urban renaissance currently witnessed by the city of Benghazi. He also valued the active and pivotal role of the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces, the Libyan Government, and the Libya Reconstruction and Development Fund in creating the appropriate environment for organizing such international scientific events.
The conference will continue over two days, featuring an intensive scientific program that includes specialized lectures and practical workshops aimed at exchanging expertise and showcasing the latest innovations in dental technology, in a manner that contributes to improving the level of medical and professional services in Libya.
The opening activities concluded with His Excellency the Minister reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to continuing its support for all technical educational institutions and encouraging research activities that contribute to building a generation of creative individuals capable of giving, innovation, and excellence.
